Description
In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the very tip of Whitefish Bay where it meets Lake Superior you will find Whitefish Point Lighthouse. This place is beautiful with endless shorelines scattered with rocks and driftwood. You can walk miles and miles along this lakeshore and seems like there is no end in sight! Sit on the sandy beach and watch the waves crash into the shoreline. See a distance freighter disappear into the horizon. Watch the sunset go down as it looks like it's falling into the lake. This is the place you just want to stay and never leave!
Whitefish Point Lighthouse is also home to Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. This place is filled with the history of shipwrecks and the shipping industry. Tours are also available for the lighthouse. But most of all I just love where it's at here in the eastern part of the U.P. a place I call home!
